Photo scanning FAQs
Straight answers on printed photo scanning, preparing originals, choosing resolution, sending photos, and downloading your finished archive.
Ordering and pricing
Which package should I choose?
Choose the package that best matches the number of printed photos in your collection. If you are between two sizes, pick the larger band so there is room for every print.
Can I order more than 2,000 photos?
Yes. Large photo archives need a quote first so collection size, preparation, timing, and handling requirements can be scoped properly before pricing is confirmed.
Can I change my resolution after ordering?
Ask as soon as possible. If scanning has not started, the order can usually be adjusted before the archive is processed.
Sending your photos
How should I pack my photos?
Keep groups together, remove anything loose that could mark the prints, and use sturdy packaging. Tracked postage is recommended when posting originals.
Can I keep my albums in order?
Yes. Keep each album or bundle clearly separated and the digital folders can follow the same structure wherever practical.
Can I arrange local pickup?
Local pickup is available for a small fee. If your address is eligible, it will appear as an option at checkout.
What if my photos are fragile or damaged?
Fragile originals are handled carefully and anything needing extra care is flagged before scanning continues.
Resolution and files
What is the difference between 300dpi, 600dpi, and 1200dpi?
300dpi is suited to everyday sharing, 600dpi gives a sharper family archive copy, and 1200dpi (interpolated) is the maximum-detail output for important collections.
What file format will I receive?
Scans are supplied as high-quality JPEG files, which are easy to view, share, print, and back up.
Will scanning repair scratches or fading?
The service creates clean digital scans of the originals. It does not include full photo restoration or manual repair unless that is agreed separately.
Delivery and aftercare
How long does scanning take?
Turnaround depends on collection size, selected resolution, and current workload. Timing is confirmed after checkout before scanning begins.
How do I receive my scans?
A secure digital download is included with every order. If you choose the USB stick option, the same archive is also copied to physical media.
How long is my download link available?
Your download link stays active for 8 weeks, giving you time to save the files and make your own backup.
What happens to my original photos?
Your original printed photos are returned after scanning using the return delivery address collected at checkout.
Can family members share the files?
Yes. Once you receive the digital files, you can copy them to family devices, cloud storage, or a shared archive.
